Ok, I am a lot of things and racist is not one of them, but I noticed something that just bothers me…. I’m not a Christian nor do I really like to judge what others believe, but the last time I checked Jesus was of Hebrew lineage correct? So that would make him Jewish, not? Ok well why is it that when I went into Wal*Mart the other day there were figurines depicting Jesus as black man. I mean like I said I’m not racist but the Hebrew people are not black, so how can Jesus be black? I mean seriously… it’s the same as the Blue-Eyed Jesus, not many true-Hebrew people have blue eyes… So why worship a Hebrew if your going to make him of another race other than Hebrew.. I don’t understand…

Oh and just for the record, I do know of one black Jewish man, but I don’t think Sammy Davis Jr. counts… .

THANK YOU!! One of my issues with the Jesus thing is that the Christians make it out like his goal was to create Christianity. I say not true, because if that were the case then why did he have Sedar (Passover Dinner) with his disciples. The Christian faith to me is built on many untrue things. Can you guess I'm not Christian. I was born and baptized Catholic and raised in a Jewish family, but am a Buddhist. I have religious tolerance, but it fries me when we have a president touting "Christian Values" and many Christians thinking they have the correct beliefs and don't allow for other views. That's when I get annoyed.

jesus...as a hebrew from jerusalem would have had darker skin. he wouldn't have been black but he would have had darker skin...like an arab. i guess it is possible that he had really dark skin but i doubt he would have really looked black. he definately would not have been a blue-eyed white guy though.

your right lynxyoukai he would have had the skin of an arabic man, but he would not have been black or anglo... its just not the type of people that were in that area during that time period.

And softfirelight Your right also, Jesus unintentially created christianity, and all credit for the creation should be given to Paul of Tarsis, because he opened the offshoot of Jeaudasim for Gentiles to convert. Most Christians (not all) do not respect religous freedom, and unfortunately our President is one of them, I too was Catholic and I am now a Pagan, I do not go door to door converting people to do the will of the Gods, and I do not want people coming to me witnessing either... its called personal freedom, and space, read your Bible at home.
